Chris Pugh (b. 1971, Ukiah, Ca) is an award-winning editorial photographer from Ukiah, California, where he works as a freelance photographer and journalist.
Pugh got his start in journalism as the Chief Photographer at the Ukiah Daily Journal, where he worked on features and covered breaking news for the daily publication. He is a founding member of the Deep Valley Arts Collective, past president of the Ukiah Photography Club, and a current member of the Partial Arts photography collective.
Outside of photography, Pugh is known for his love of loose leaf tea, locally brewed craft beer, 80’s heavy metal music, and his fondness for useless trivia knowledge.
With a focus on rural architecture, abandoned buildings, and forgotten subjects, Pugh pays tribute to the history of life in America through his camera lens.
Pugh is a fan of William Eggleston, Charles Bukowski, and anything touched by Jack White. He collects photo books, vinyl records and is a lover of fountain pens and moleskin notebooks.
